The Xerox Phaser 3250 is a monochrome laser printer designed for the small office environment.  It has fast print speeds of up to 30 pages per minute, automatic duplexing and an option for Ethernet networking support.  Phaser 3250 toner is more expensive than competing models, however.

There are two models of the 3250 available—the 3250D, which includes automatic duplexing (two-sided printing) and the 3250DN, which adds Ethernet networking.  Including duplexing as a standard feature is a nice plus, as printing on both sides of the page helps to conserve paper and therefore paper costs.  These savings can really add up.  The unit measures 9.4 inches by 14.3 inches by 14.5 inches, which is a reasonably small footprint.  Its 400 mhz processor and 32 MB make it able to handle a fair number of users as well as graphics-intensive print jobs.  Its 600 dpi printing resolution results in very sharp prints, and it has a 1200 dpi enhanced mode for even sharper prints.

Xerox 3250 toner tends to be a little higher-priced than its competition.  This makes replacing toners a little harder on the budget, but the duplexing feature and toner save mode help users get more from each Phaser 3250 toner cartridge, so this may help balance out the cost.  The printer toner is easy to find, as Xerox 3250 toner cartridges are available at most retailers.

In their review of the Xerox 3250, Computer Shopper liked its fast speeds, its auto-duplexing and the ability to add a second paper tray.  They disliked its high price and wished for wireless capabilities.  They also thought the cost of a RAM upgrade was too high.  They gave it a rating of 8 out of 10.

Overall, the Xerox Phaser 3250 includes a number of features that users will find useful, and its fast speeds and sharp print quality are impressive.
