The Xerox Phaser 6140 is a color laser printer designed for small or medium office environments.  It has excellent print speeds at up to 19 pages per minute for color and up to 21 pages per minute black.  Its built-in ethernet and large paper capacity are also impressive features.  Phaser 6140 toner uses Xerox EA technology for more even coverage from the printer toner.

Modern office users are becoming increasingly concerned about the environmental impact of their business.  The 6140 has them covered with intelligent sleep mode to reduce power consumption.  In fact, there is a dedicated Power Save button on the front of the machine, which users can press before leaving the office to ensure the most power savings.  Xerox 6140 toner cartridges have a large capacity, which also means less frequent replacements and less waste. 

Comparing Phaser 6140 toner cartridges to those of competing models, they are about average in price.  Xerox states that the EA technology used in their Xerox 6140 toner is superior to traditional toners in that it provides a more uniform image quality.  Xerox 6140 toner cartridges leave behind less waste than most cartridges, which also affects its environmental impact.

PC Magazine reviewed the Xerox 6140 laser printer and gave it a rating of 3 out of 5.  They were impressed by its many features and its low upfront price but found that a few other models from Xerox gave a lower cost per page, making them a better overall value.  They did recommend the printer for a light-duty office.

Overall, the Xerox Phaser 6140 is a formidable competitor in the small office market.  It offers a nice mix of features and a low price that will appeal to limited budgets.  The low cost of printer ink will keep the cost of ownership down, and the fast and easy networking setup makes it easy to share among users.
